What is the difference between an OEM digital camera battery and DuracellDirect's digital camera batteries?
DuracellDirect aims to provide customers with only the most high quality grade cells in our replacement Ricoh digital
camera batteries. Our batteries will either meet or exceed OEM specifications, so your new replacement battery may be
even better than your original. All of our products pass various safety certifications, such as UL, FCC, RoHS, and CE.
We also provide a one year warranty with all of our products. Our digital camera batteries are not only safe, but are
also durable, in order to provide customers with only the best batteries.
What different types of Ricoh digital camera batteries are there?
Our aftermarket Ricoh digital camera batteries may be made from one of four types: Li-Ion (Lithium Ion), Ni-Cad
(Nickel Cadmium), or NiMH (Nickel Metal Hydride). Each battery type has distinct advantages over the other, such as
longer life per charge, longer overall life cycle, weight, size, faster charge time, or stability. But, all four types
are universally accepted for creating high quality replacement digital camera batteries.
Why do Ricoh digital camera batteries have different capacities?
The capacity of a Ricoh digital camera battery is measured in “mAh” (milliampere-hour). Many different factors affect
battery capacities: in particular, capacity size, voltage, wattage, and even the battery chemistry type. The more
electrolyte and electrode material there is in the digital camera battery cells, the larger the capacity will be if the
chemistry make up is the same. Larger digital camera battery capacities will always last longer than digital camera
batteries with lower battery capacities.
How long will my Ricoh digital camera battery last?
On average, our replacement Ricoh digital camera batteries will last for several hours of constant use; their total
life span will be, on average, two to three years, or 500 discharge / charge cycles. Charging your replacement Ricoh
digital camera battery can take up to 4 hours, with as much as 80% capacity being reached within the first hour.
Certain conditions, such as use-per-charge, can be affected by various factors, such as the chemical composition of
the cell or whether the battery has been treated properly. This means that the averages stated above can change as
well. Be sure to take full care of your battery in order to maximize its lifetime.
How safe are Ricoh digital camera batteries and batteries in general? How do I take care of my Ricoh battery?
Our aftermarket Ricoh digital camera batteries come with various safety certifications, including UL, FCC, CE, and RoHS.
Our other products, such as digital camera battery chargers, also attain some of these safety certifications. We aim
to make sure that our batteries are of the highest quality, and will provide safe, durable service.
Properly taking care of your battery will not only help extend your battery’s life span, but will also protect your
battery from malfunctioning. For example, avoid any physical injury to the battery. This can happen from throwing,
stepping on, dropping, or taking apart your digital camera battery. Try to avoid having your battery come into contact
with water or any other liquid, as they can seep in and destroy the cells. Extreme heat, from leaving your battery in
direct sunlight in your car, can disrupt the cells, as can freezing temperatures. If any liquids start leaking out
from the battery, take it to the nearest recycling center; do not attempt to re-use it after that.
