What is the difference between an OEM laptop battery and DuracellDirect's laptop batteries?
We carry replacement Duracell Direct laptop batteries for Hi-Grade laptops that will meet or exceed OEM manufacturer
specifications. All aftermarket Hi-Grade laptop battery products come with a full one year warranty, and carry
various UL, CE, RoHS and FCC safety certifications. Aftermarket laptop batteries are built with high quality
materials and newer technology which makes them longer lasting laptop batteries, safe, and have an advantage over
OEM Hi-Grade laptop batteries.
What different types of Hi-Grade laptop batteries are there?
There are several different types of aftermarket Hi-Grade laptop batteries that you might find on DuracellDirect.
These different Hi-Grade battery chemistry types are: Li-Ion (Lithium Ion), Ni-Cad (Nickel Cadmium), Li-Poly (Lithium
Polymer), or NiMH (Nickel Metal Hydride). Li-Ion is a fairly common laptop battery chemistry type for Hi-Grade
batteries. Each Hi-Grade laptop battery chemistry type has advantages and disadvantages, such as longer life per
charge, longer overall life cycle, weight, size, faster charge time, or stability. All four battery chemistry types
are universally accepted in Hi-Grade laptops.
Why do Hi-Grade batteries have different capacities?
Hi-Grade laptop battery capacity is measured in “mAh” (milliampere-hour). Many different factors affect laptop
battery capacities: in particular, laptop battery cell size, voltage, wattage, and even the battery chemistry type.
The more electrolyte and electrode material there is in the laptop battery cells, the larger the capacity will be
if the chemistry make up is the same. Hi-Grade laptop batteries with larger capacities will always last longer than
laptop batteries with lower battery capacities.
How long will my Hi-Grade laptop battery last?
Your replacement Hi-Grade laptop battery should last a few hours for recording and playback. Recharging your Hi-Grade
battery will take one to three hours to reach a full charge, with 80% battery capacity being reached the first hour.
Hi-Grade laptop battery lifespan should last for about three years and can handle over 500 discharge / charge cycles.
How safe are Hi-Grade laptop batteries and batteries in general? How do I take care of my Hi-Grade battery?
DuracellDirect replacement Hi-Grade laptop batteries, chargers and accessories are very safe, tested and hold various
UL, CE, FCC and RoHS safety certifications before being sold to our customers.
Aftermarket Hi-Grade batteries from DuracellDirect are very durable but need to be taken care of properly to ensure a
long lasting laptop battery. Avoid leaving your laptop battery in poor environments that include hot temperatures,
freezing temperatures, rain, moisture, high impact, and abusive conditions which can damage or void your Hi-Grade
laptop battery. Do not disassemble your Hi-Grade laptop battery as it can damage the internal battery cells and
short circuit the internals. If your Hi-Grade battery becomes defective, please check to see if it is still under
warranty. If your Hi-Grade battery is out of warranty, make sure it is disposed of at your nearest battery recycling center.
If you are unsure if our replacement Hi-Grade laptop battery or Hi-Grade laptop charger is compatible with your
